Now Lead By Peace and Justice

A day we thought would never come
has arrived at long last, an end to
the armed terroist campaign by the IRA.

The protestant and catholic leaders
invited as independant witnesses to
the destruction of the weapons of war.

A momentous day for 29th July 2005
official ceasefire at 4 p.m.
A step forward for the Irish people.

Despite eighteen hundred deaths
by para-military and criminal acts
thirty years of brutal violence gone.

At last Britain and Ireland will deal
through peaceful and political means
after confident and courageous decisions.

‘Thankyou Gerry Adams and Martin McGuinness
for this step forward in Irish/British history
Let Us Now Be Friends.’
