NATIONAL MEMORIAL

A strategic gap between the walls
For those who answered “Duty Calls”
A shaft of light breaks through to say
Tis the “Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day”
Comrades Young and Comrades Old
Comrades shy and Comrades Bold
From Wars long gone or Modern times
Loved ones lost behind enemy lines
In Desert Lands or distant shores
Our quiet prayers in silence pause
Those lost at sea in oceans deep
Our Treasured Thoughts, of these, we keep
Years gone by and Years quite new
Others have joined the “”Sacred Few”
The fallen of conflict in foreign parts
Their names carved in Stone and in our Hearts
Read these Names with Deep Regret
We Honour them now, “Lest we Forget”
