Letters About Lies

I want to apologies for yesterday…
I lied to you once again…
I should know by now that I shouldn’t…
I lied to you, daddy even though I don’t want to…
I want to tell you the truth…
But I can’t…
I lied to you, mummy even though I don’t want to…
I want to tell you the truth…
But I can’t…

I don’t want you to worry…
It’s not fair on you…
You’ve got enough to deal with right now…
Without me being silly…
Because Grandma’s getting ill…
And your Gulf War syndrome is much more serious than my problems…
I don’t have the right to act up…
Although you’ll tell me otherwise…
I’m sure of it…

I shouldn’t be making you worried…
So I told you it was the cat…
That left those marks on my arms…
I lied to you, daddy even though I don’t want to…
I want to tell you the truth…
But I can’t…
I lied to you, mummy even though I don’t want to…
I want to tell you the truth…
But I can’t…
