Learn How to Pretend

As spring bursts forth, my thoughts are filled with you
Midst seasons of my life which now have flown
For evermore in pretence to review
Each one in perfect harmony as known
Was life then lived as memory defines
Midsummer’s warmth as held within embrace
Or doth embellishment pervade such times
When crescent moon cast light upon your face
In glimpsing autumn hues within your hair
No palette primed couldst e’er with paint be borne
By stating point of view thou wouldst declare
In conversations we’d engage till dawn
Yet winter days ahead bring lonely nights
No longer shared as we put wrong to rights
