I Miss You

When the tinkling fairy bell
Travels on the wind
And the imps and elves dance
When the summer breath
Issues in
I miss you

When the sand banks
Welcome the waves rippling touch
As the seagulls call
In the rocks overhead
As the crabs dance in their hollow beds
I miss you

When the whispers echo
Through the empty woods
And the wolf peeps out
From his shady nook
I miss you

For the oceans of time
Have pulled you away
Left me here along to stay
Until you return on some fine day
I’ll miss you

For you’re off in place
Where I cannot go
In a land where the sand
Is as cold as snow
And they hate you
Because they do not know
How I miss you
