The families all gathered
To see such delights
The bonfire burning
Fireworks so bright

Somewhere in a house
Not far away
Shakes a veteran
From past conflict days

When fireworks go off
To us not what it seems
The huge explosion
I have in my dreams

And they make a bang
To us is not fun
In out torment of memories
That was a gun
