Harbinger Of Fate

Within secluded realm of tortured mind
As held in perpetuity of thought
An act which once was deemed by some unkind
To salvage of a life no-one had sought
Comes back to haunt when quiet moments reign
Alone within cold solitude of fear
In knowing that said act would bring him pain
Whilst clinging on to life, I held him near
Forgive my stance which may have nurtured hope
In reaching out to bridge his road to life
Couldst I but see how he would ever cope
His one existence filled with years of strife
Sweet ‘Blessing’ came to nullify attempt
Now ‘Day-mares’ plant the seed such dreams pre-empt
