Happy Christmas Eve

Christmas eve

And lights are flashing

All around are people dashing

Home from work

Through falling snow

To settle down

By firelight’s glow

Later on

Some of them mingle

With their kids

At church Christingle

Children then

Will go to bed

Waiting for

The man in red

With his sack

Filled up with toys

Meant only for

Good girls and boys

In the morning

At first light

They will see

A wondrous sight

Lots of presents

On their bed

From that jolly

Man in red

And ‘round the tree

The family come

To give their gifts

For Dad and Mum

A lovely sight

This Christmas morn

To celebrate

When Christ was born
