“GREAT WAR?”

A hundred years have come and gone,
But here we stand, heads bowed as one.

On the air the sounds of bugle and prayer,
In our hearts sadness, regret and thanks we share.

To those who fell then, to keep all safe,
From Tyranny, Greed, Stupidity and strafe.

“The Great War” they called it, I sometime wonder why,
Great – adj; considerably above average in amount, extent or
strength -”but why did so many have to die?”
