FATHER OF THE BRIDE

by | Oct 9, 2010 | Poetry | 0 comments

I give thee
A blessing
To take my daughter’s hand

At this I know
There is much
They’ve yet to understand

With flowing gowns
And pressed suits
The materials embodied
The beginning of pursuit

With wine over flowing
And fine words man must speak …

My daughter
Is married
Now where does that leave me.
