Fake Your Partners

Our dreams allow life’s cares to waltz away
Relieving loneliness within the mind
Where partners in the dance by touch convey
A closeness often sought, of two entwined
To be in step with one who leads my heart
Doth add a certain frisson, deemed surreal
Electric sparks betwixt, ‘though held apart
Send shock waves of a kind one can’t conceal
When e’er your cards are marked, I’ll jump the queue
Excusing my presumptive attitude
If passing by wouldst bid a fond adieu
Missed opportune encounter to conclude
Until such time we drift off as a pair
Whilst skipping on a cloud, I’d take you there
