Embrace Thy Dream

Wouldst e’er thou glean intention from my heart
If love doth kiss sweet brow, with lips unmet
Where friendships protocol hath deemed apart
Lest fear of words betwixt doth cause to fret
Pained circumstance of life, I’ve kept inside
With simple knowing thou didst spake profound
In gentle brush of ‘cheek on cheek’ aside
Now dreams in metaphoric phrase abound
If thou perchance hath cause to think of me
Fond memory, may breathe a heaving sigh
I ask this only of myself, not thee
Should contemplative touch this once comply
Such need to hold thee in my arms this night
Dared hope, reciprocation to my plight
