“Don’t take the Bait”

by | Apr 28, 2013 | Poetry | 0 comments

Enjoining with the tears that she hath wept
For one who didst betray a promised pledge
In darkened depths concealed he proved adept
Her heart now cast aside at water’s edge
As river rushes on amidst recall
She wonders of a time when all seemed true
Beneath the murky deeds which doth appal
Wouldst try to bring to mind as she once knew
A trusting heart lies open to deceit
When one is blind to that which cannot be
If ebb and flow should bring about repeat
Wouldst taking bait leave feelings all at sea
In landing one who may fulfil your dreams
Prepare to toss him back, if not as seems 🙂
