When I watch The News at Ten
The headlines are about dying men.
Military men walk out the door
And leave their families to go to war.
It’s not just about the Taliban fighting
It stops the innocent reading and writing.
Why does a religion all about peace
Attack the army and the Afghan police.
They come from the hills and plant bombs in the ground
And have little care when the victim is found.
The conflict continues, the troops soldier on
But some are injured and others are gone.
On Remembrance Sunday we stand up and pray
That God will bring peace to the world one day.
