My heart is filled with joy & sadness
Over the many miles
I long to see and touch him
And greet him with a smile

It is almost Christmas time
In this tiny town
Without him here with us
Our lives are turned around

Today, I wrap presents
to put under the tree
so the kids can open them
with so much glee.

He is away with the Army
Serving our country proud
He is my hero
Let me shout out loud!

Oh, how we wish he could be here
to join in on the fun
instead he serves our country
so he can’t watch the kids come undone

Christmas time is coming
without any doubt
We will share with him the memories
and make him feel proud.
