Between Night and Morn

Dark night and stars drinking purpled wine
Moon so sadly sighs whilst reading rhyme
The mountains proud in their highest keep
Close snow-glazed eyes and try to sleep
Maid midnight past sighs so soft with love
Gallops by fast her dark knight above
Forward and onward seeks morning sun
Miss angry sea lifts blue skirts to run
Her skipping feet course foaming and white
Painted mouths on pebbles shining bright
Tumbled so round burnish and speckles
Gaze at faint stars. Miss last night’s freckles.
