Beneath Thy Feet (A promise made for Holy Week)

His splintered Cross casts shadows o’er our world
As factions and divisions fail to see
In reaching out with love, His arms unfurled
Once more are nailed in ignorance to Tree
A long awaited hope fulfilled for man
To rid his conscience clear e’en show the way
With eyes yet closed when reading of His plan
For blind hath led the blind unto this day
If man then pleads forgiveness, overcome
Wouldst promise of eternity abort
By One who Sacrificed His only Son
‘The Word’ in whom all answers may be sought
In making man true image of His own
Creator’s played a hand in all that’s known
