BADGER IN THE MEADOW

by | Jun 13, 2012 | Poetry | 0 comments

Emerging from his set
In meadows bathed with gold
The badger sniffs the air
Not tempted to be bold
How easy it would be
To gambol in the sun
Roll around the meadow
As day is nearly done
Everywhere there’s danger
For this creature of the night
Enemies are out there
In long grass out of sight
So waiting at the entrance
And safety of his set
He senses that it’s early
To venture out just yet
