Away in a sandpit

Away in a sandpit
Just cots for their beds
Brave soldiers are silently
Resting their heads

The stars in the night sky
Shining down on the land
Watching over our soldiers
Asleep on the sand

There are rockets exploding
Our soldiers they wake
Disturbed by the noise
And the ground as it shakes

We’re proud of our soldiers
They help make things right
We will always support them
All day and all night

So we ask you Lord Jesus
In our prayers that we say
Watch over our soldiers
Whilst they’re posted away

Bring all our dear soldiers
So brave and so strong
Home to their loved ones
It’s where they belong
