Autumn Reflection

The passage of autumn
Is like the transient passage of human emotional experience.
The promise of summer’s warmth and comfort
Gives way to the threat of winter’s cold and treachery.
We shed our confidence and security,
And rid ourselves of our raiment.
We are helped along the way by nature…
An inevitable and necessary purpose.
Be it viewed as a loss, or necessary new growth…
There is no loss when
We divest ourselves of our present vanity…
To reinvest ourselves within a more sophisticated structure.
