A Soldier’s Secret

by | May 23, 2009 | Poetry | 0 comments

Soldier’s whose sunburned and rugged faces
Tell of battles lost and won in hostile places
Soldier’s whose families will never know of their true feats
Nor medals tell of the experiences that within their company they will keep
Soldier’s whose daily tasks are hidden from public view
Ordinary man with special skills who others have loved and knew
Soldier’s whose cap badge should command from us due respect
Whose challenges and bravery their stories will never truly reflect
