A Soldier’s Christmas

Soldier soldier where are you
On this cold Christmas day
Are you opening presents
From loved ones far away
Are you having turkey
And lovely Christmas pud
No might be your answer
Whilst wishing that you could
Some might just be lucky
To get a Christmas meal
Others will be nervous
And listening for the squeal
That pain and terror brings
When bullets start to fly
Roadside bombs exploding
The minute you walk by
Soldiers I salute you
God keep you safe from harm
May this Christmas bring you
A day of peace and calm
