A BROTHER CALLS

I heard my brother calling me
To join him once again
Where God has eased his suffering
And freed him from his pain

I see him in my dreaming
Walking tall and strong
In the house where we were children
The place we could belong

No longer is he shackled
No braces slow him down
His crutches are discarded
Gone now is his frown

Our dreams can be so cruel
Can hurt and bring us pain
But welcoming I’ll surely be
If he should call again
